Cases of bagged salad distributed by Dole Fresh Vegetables have been recalled because a New York state test of some of the salad found salmonella contamination, the company has announced.

Dole Seven Lettuces salad with an April 11, 2012, expiration date, UPC code 71430 01057 and Product Codes 0577N089112A and 0577N089112B is being recalled. In all, 756 cases distributed in 15 states, including Illinois, are being recalled, according to a release from the company.

Information about which retailers might have distributed the salad wasn’t available this afternoon. No illnesses have been reported in connection with the product and no other Dole products are involved, Dole said in the release.

The recall comes after a sample of Seven Lettuces salad yielded a positive result for Salmonella in a random sample test collected and conducted by the State of New York.

Anyone who has any remaining bagged salad with the affected product codes should throw it out, according to Dole. Anyone with questions may call Dole at (800) 356-3111, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pacific Time Monday-Friday.
