While not yet official, it appears as if the Strikeforce promotion has finalized a deal that will put Fedor Emelianenko opposite Dan Henderson on July 30th set to air on Showtime.

The finalized match-up will reportedly have Dan Henderson move from his divisional home where he holds Strikeforce gold and head up to a catch weight of 220 pounds.

After losing to Jake Shields in his promotional debut, Strikeforce light heavyweight champion, Dan Henderson is on a two fighting winning streak. After dispatching “Babalu" Sobral in December of last year, he went on to earn the Strikeforce title in March with an impressive knockout victory over then champ, Rafael Cavalcante.

A man, who needs no introduction, is Henderson’s next opponent. Fedor Emelianenko is one of the most respected sportsmen in Mixed Martial Arts. After amassing an unheard of unbeaten streak against the world’s top heavyweight competition, the Russian based fighter now sees himself on a two fight losing streak for the first time ever in his 11 year professional career.

While not yet official, the bout is expected to serve as the main event on a yet to be announced card set for July 30th in Chicago.
