Cesar Gracie says Nate Diaz is going back to 155

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nate Diaz has apparently worn out his welcome in the welterweight division.

The younger brother of Nick Diaz initially had a strong showing with consecutive stoppages in his first two 170-pound fights, against Rory Markham and Marcus Davis, respectively, but has now lost back-to-back fights to strong grapplers in Dong Hyun Kim and Rory MacDonald.

Diaz's coach, Cesar Gracie, tells MMAmania.com his fighter out of the "209" will likely return to 155-pounds:

"Nate Diaz didn't look too good. I'm gonna be the first one to say it. He looked lethargic out there and he's been asking me to go back to 155 for some time now. Frankie Edgar is the champion over there and he's the student of a good friend of mine. Nathan was one of the contenders at 155 so we brought him up to 170 but it looks like we'll probably bring him back down to 155 where he belongs. "

Nate Diaz initially burst on the scene as a lightweight, winning season five of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) before embarking on an impressive five-fight win streak. A string of decision losses to a slew of tough wrestlers in Clay Guida, Joe Stevenson and Gray Maynard, however, forced the Stockton native to move up to welterweight.

Can Diaz make a big splash in his likely return to 155-pounds? Or will top wrestlers continue to stifle his progress?

Good move to 155......he was on the way to a title shot at 155 and jumped up.....plus Nick Diaz and Jake Shields are at 170 and he will never fight them of course
