Art Atwood IFBB Pro Bodybuilder & DEA informant dies at 37

Art Dale Atwood died on September 11, 2011 at a pool party in Dallas,Texas. Atwood was 37 years old. The circumstances behind his death have not been determined and it is unclear if Atwood fell or jumped into the pool. He was unable to be resuscitated by the time he was pulled out.

Atwood was well known for his massive physique, and for being affiliated with Operation Raw Deal. His arrest led him to play the role as a fully cooperative DEA informant who received no jail time.

His bodybuilding endeavors included winning his IFBB Pro Card at the 2001 NPC USA Nationals. His pro debut was the IFBB Toronto Pro show where he won first place. Since this time, he competed in many pro bodybuilding shows and founded Professional Supplements.

Even with his colorful history, supporters of the fitness industry, bodybuilders and fans loved Atwood. He will be missed.
