It's time to put an end to this disaster.Look, I admire the replacement refs-- they're working hard and trying their best, but -- let's be honest -- they aredefinitely in over their heads. It wasn't so bad during the pre-season. In fact, it waskind of cool to see these bottom-drawer refs getting a shot at the bigs. Almostinspirational in a Shane Falco sort of way. But nowwe're neck deep in games that actually count for something, and these Equusquagga are dropping more calls than [insert name of your cell provider here].Making an overzealous pass-interference call (or 20) isn't the end of the world, but thereplacements are putting a wrench into the very nuts and bolts of the game. They're givingunusual penalty yardage (see: Detroit-Tennessee), allowing teams to call extra timeoutsand make challenges they shouldn't be allowed to make (see: San Francisco-Minnesota) andseem pretty unsure of themselves (see: every game). There are some basic rules infootball, and these refs just don't seem that well versed in them (could be why theLingerie Football League just fireda bunch of them).These botched calls aren't just affecting the flow of thegame; they're affecting the outcome of games, player safety and, ultimately, fanenjoyment.Player Safety

With calls seemingly going either way after just about every whistle, teams are playingconfused, yes, but mainly over-the-line football. Basically, they're trying to see howmuch they can get away with.And it's a lot.LB Joe Mays gave MattSchaub a late hit, and the QB lost a piece of his ear. EliManning and Ben Roethlisberger are other QBs who have also been targeted with hard,over-the-line hits.In the GB/Seattle game -- in which there were literallydozens of blown calls -- CB Brandon Browner gave Greg Jennings a cheap shot, but somehow they endedup with off-setting penalties. It’s getting dangerous out there, andpretty soon we’re going to start losing players. The replacement refs are unable tocontrol the game, and that’s unacceptable.You know what else isunacceptable?Refs workingthe fantasy angle and showing Facebooklove to their favorite team -- right before working a game, with that very team.The Outcome Of Games

i dont have a problem with these guys at all. they make mistakes and so did the regular guys. so freaking what, it is a damn game and they get paid a ton of money to do it. that is the bottom line. people take this stuff way to seriously.

they get paid to call a fair game and what they have been doing is far from that.. the games have been a joke....

they totally fucked up the packers game...they should be fined, suspended, etc...it's a privilege to have the job they have...nobody owes them anything til they prove themselves...this is all roger goodell's fault though

i agree... i dont know what the reg refs are wanting.. from what i heard is they want more money.. i heard they get paid over 100k a year..i dont know how true this is.. but damn how much money do you need to make..

Right on bro..problem is...GAMBLING. Way to much money is being lost on bad officiating. Sure the regs made mistakes, but this is a whole different level of inept, unsure refs who are costing Vegas $ now...bound to cause more probs
