Anybody Have any Hobbies?

Hobbies that people do for the pure joy of doing them build true self esteem- not just ego gratification from accomplishment or feeling superior.
For example one of mine is boating. Not so much the boats really as that becomes about biggest or best or whatever but just being out on the water and free and sleeping on a rocking boat with lil waves lapping aginst the hull and being half-naked and meeting other boaters who are generally happy people(while they're boating and not when repairing broken boats- LOL!) and being at the marina where it's away from the fast paced world. just relax and enjoy. Jet skiing is a thrilling hobby I enjoy as well. I want to surf more as i really enjoyed it. Snorkelling is very amazing to me when I'm in the caribbean. And there is no greater enjoyment of freedom than sailing around the caribbean. These are some of my hobbies. I enjoy them especially when combined with my favorite hobby SEX! LOL!

i've actually started bouncing/security at the college bars again.....i'm only 5'5" but 18" arms averaging 190 bodyweight right now and the chics dig it....my girl just broke up with me so i needed something to take up my time to get over her.....it's working...the pay sucks but the fringe benefits make up for it

i buy and sell antiques just a great way to relax and get to hear some great stories

I actually have a few, both I haven't been doing very long at all. I'm an artist I guess if thats what you'd call it, I started doing oil painting about a year ago.
But my passion is what I started last summer of 2010, bowling~ LOL I absolutely love it! LOL I guess its because its just came so natural for me. I started entering tourny's and have done very well, winning 2 (placed 1st) out of 3, the 3rd which I placed 2nd in. Kind if funny really, if you'd asked me a year ago to bowl I would have laughed~!! LOL

I've been playing the drums since I was about 10 years old, so I usually get on there a few times a week and piss my neighbors off. I also go offroading in the jeep every once and a while and as for the road and making my butthole pucker I get on the GSXR .

I'm a wood worker. Finish carpentery type stuff. Have buillt many pcs of furniture, tons of remodeling. Also enjoy working in the yard and gardening type stuff. I found out long ago life is too short to be to one minded. We all need more in our life beside weights.

Irish- I've always said the best way to get over one is to get another one or many other ones- LOL! Amen bro- so you're sayin acumulating hoches at the bar is your new Hobby? I'm freakin JEALOUS! LOL! I remember those days at 18-21 at the regular club. Older when I was head at titty bars.

IPL- totally cool. Painting and playing with big huge balls...LOL! Only kidding : ) You should combine the 2 and start custom painting bowling balls. It's cool you found a hidden talent. Good for you IPL. cool

Idmass I used to offroad (more muddin) in my lifted jeep XJ but then I got a landcruiser fj80 and it was even better! But I lost interest for now.
And I definately need to Ride to be sane. Oh and Pissin the neighbors off is always fun!

I play guitar. been at it since i was around 16 years old. love it.. that and i love my Harley. Try to get out and ride as much as i can

I like photography, i'm not that great but i'm learning. I enjoy my dogs whether it's training, swimming, hiking/snow shoeing with them. They actually reduce my stress almost as much as the gym. I'd like to start going off roading with my jeep but know i can't afford repairs so thats going to have to wait for now until i find a job in my field. I spend a lot of time reading too

hey apollo that is a great hobby my man. i would love to get into that but since i have well over 10 years in the marine corps. that has damn near ruined any chances of me wanting to be on a boat or camping for fun. i do still love to shoot and teach people how to shoot.

Target Archery.- 20 yard indoor. average is 299 out of 300 score.

Lets see- I have a few and I actually make part time salary with both- One I do landscape and garden design- specializing on Rose and perennials and I have spent 40 years of my life for several hours daily engaging in primitive fighting methods of Asia. I label them as combat or fighting, because I dont consider figthing on the battlefield or to save your life an artform. I dont practice to develop fitness or for asthetic reasons. Of course when I was a child I did practice the Martial Arts of karate,judo ,kung fu, tae kwon do- and yes they are artforms , not really geared for self protection- very contrary to popular belief. I consider Brazilian Jujutsu a form of Judo - because in reality it was developed in the Judo school and the suffix ,"jutsu" refers to battle or war - to me jujutsu was a method of war used to cripple and kill the enemy only- using impact ,edged ,flexible waepons and empty hands- it was considered the method used by the Bushi (soldiers) now called Samurai. Jujutsu is a method of Koryu Bujutsu NOT gendai budo ( arts developed after 1865 time of piece) I also practice Indonesian and filipino weapons and kali, silat , escrima. Oh its a long story- I practice gardening for the same reasons- Every Bushi (samurai) in order to balance the spirit was required to take up some form of aesthetic pursuit since the practice of learning to cripple and kill could lead to an unbalanced spirit LMAO - poetry, music- I chose horticulture ( flowers) he hee hee

Painting pottery it makes me relaxed and i'm in the zone .

used to draw/paint since childhood and play guitar.even went to our local art museum for classes in studying Monet.actually did quite well .once i allowed my addiction to take over my life i lost feeling for it all.
sure,i'd get clean here and there,try it again and go back to the instant gratification.my ex-wife says she still has some of my work at her house.started getting back into it right when she left me after being clean for about a year.ever since then i've been...well dead inside.
the gym right now is the only thing i've got from eatin a .38+P(ran outta mags.). it's the only place where i have control.just God,me and the steel.it's my sanctuary,my solace and my humility at times when i get too cocky.
when i was in high school my art teacher always told me as i age how things would change and i'd laugh.how right he was.oh yeah,i was a huge WWII model freak.homemade paintbox and all.my thing was post war Soviet aircraft and WWII German armor.can't tell you how many of my built models ended up in shops as dioramas.perhaps one day.

Guns, though not for nearly as long as you- I was in the Navy and with the Marines but there is no freedom on those boats or camps. When there's no mission and no threat- one can relax and open their eyes to what's around them and see things as nature intended. No thinking- just letting things be and watching them or being with them. When I just observe nature I learn, am excited and at peace. I sat in the mini van the other day at a marina and watched the eagles soar and play in the wind on a very gusty, windy day. This is what it taught me. The eagles could'nt control the wind(too powerful) but they controlled themselves in the wind and that was their power. They let the higher power have ultimate control, and chose to control what they could their own actions within the wind- the result was them enjoying the wind and themselves: harmony. It was amazing to watch.


Big K - I am with all you harley riders- I like to ride and smile and be friendly with bikers. It really gets on my nerves when as soon as a person gets on their harley they become instant badass with bad attitude- When I'm on mine- I'm just myself but enjoying the ride. Waterfalls! What? That's cool as shit. I always thought about doing that. Do you got any fish in any of them? How fancy a waterfall?

I love to go Trout fishing... My grandpa used to take me all the time when I was young and now my son and I go. Just very relaxing to me. Can fish all day and not catch nothing but very relaxed afterward though.

Well- I guess being in a war and watching my friends get killed, also being a Social Worker and having a bunch of criminals on my caseload- having my life threatened, being shot at, as a child I wanted to be Qwai Chai Caine and Batman LOL. I have pursued the clinical study of human relationships and behavior so I know generosity, culture, self reflection, how to protect what I love, stand up for what I believe without fear of death. I live and love every moment. To be alive is a priviledge. Even to suffer or feel pain is a blessing, I know character and empathy, but allow no one to use fear or intimidation against who and what I love. To not undestand what motivates another man, does not make the other man confused- ALthough I walk through the valley of death I fear no evil

You mention "culture" I find culture to be a division of mankind and a limitation when one clings too firmly or believes too strongly in their particular set of beliefs or practices or habits or actions of their particular culture.
I'm no sociologist or trained mind of any kind about the subject but having experienced many cultures - it appears to me as culture was developed to bound together for survival and is habitual as for security. Yet as time goes on and mankinds survival is only threatened by their own populating and ignorance(going against the nature that ultimately rules) I see culture as more limiting and devisive than liberating. Anyways- sorry- just as it seems to me.
I get walking tall with confidence one can handle themself and their own. I also get: To put or allow ones' self to be put in those situations is not as foolish as finding ones self in those situations and not being able to- but still foolish all the same.
"fear of death" I used to say that I did'nt fear death. I dont fear it enough to cower or not take the best action(righteous action-for me) in it's face and probably even rebel against it in it's face- lol But I came to see that I still felt the fear. Matter of fact- now that my kids are; I have a fear greater than death that would cause me maybe to be more scared of dying bc of the consequences of me dying for others.
I guess what interest me is 2 fold- what motivates others and what lies we all create for or tell to ourselves and how far people go to proove these self-lies to themselves. I guess it appears to me that thought as anything can be good or bad. And more than likely is both more oft than not. Perhaps it is at the absence of thought where truth beyond this duality is experienced?
My goal is always to see clearly. I'm curious about everything or perhaps just paranoid. LMAO!

I restore cars, and I play Blackjack professionally.

By professionally I mean that I don't play into my losses, and that I am a card counter. It isn't full proof by any means as it is glorified to be, but it DEFINITELY helps against the house. I make more playing blackjack in 15 hours bi weekly than I do my 80 hours bi weekly paycheck if that says how well I do.

Sadly I don't get to enjoy it though.

It pays student loans....:(

Im 45- at 5 my Uncle had a karate dojo- which in support of my Uncle my parents took me there every day. By the time I was 15 I had 4th dan in Shotokan. SInce then I studied penjak silat. Wing chun, Tae kwon Do 4-6 hours age 16-23 - after school or work. Yes I did join the armed forces and also continue my studies in combat and used the GI Bill to pay for school- I dont see how you find that hard to understand. My life has been decicated to study. I dont talk about Desert Storm much, because I saw many ugly fucking things. When I was 14 0r 15 I began lifting weigths and body building. My days began at 2am to eat breakfast , take my pills and teas. 5am I hit the gym. Then a combo of work and school or this would change when I was in the Army to whatever they asked. At 35 I still hadnt finished school I have my MSW now. There has never been any point in time when I havent trained. So wise guy- yes 40 years martial art training- MSW and I was in the Army. I fought in Desert Storm. Why did I study whe I was a kid? Thats already been answered- I wanted to be Batman or Qwai Chai Caine

i do the same thing buck. it seems like when i diet down for a show it makes it worse. my last creation was a double choc cake with peanut butter butter cream icing. all made from scratch. i love to cook when i am home and have some down time though. if i were to guess why i do this it would be from eating plan ass tilapia turkey and chicken day in and day out for 12wks
