I go to a small town barber. Its just him in the shop and there is always at least 2 guys waiting and sometimes up to 7. He charges $8 so I just give him a $10. I see a lot of people not tipping him and I wonder if it is just being cheap or not knowing better.
Wife cuts my hair. Better put she clips/shaves my hair/head. I tip all services that call for tipping 20%.
My girl manages a salon.....i just shave mine so no need to for her to cut it.....although I use clippers with a 000 blade so she will cut it sometimes.
20% if the service is good....thats what she tips when we go out ...so I'm sure thats what she is looking at when she does hair services:D
i go bald now but back in the day. a good one is 25%.
I pay a barber here $25 for a cut and $5 for a tip. It is ridiculous. The cheapest places I've found in my area are Fantastic Sam's and that is like $18 and I'll pay extra for a good cut. I keep my hair cut very short. I often have a high and tight. I prefer the no guard but the Mrs. wont stand for it....LOL.
it costs $15 for a cut by me and i usually tip $3 regularly or $5 around the holidays. if someone cuts my sons hair, he's 2 now, they automatically get $5 because he is a handful.
i usually get a fade for $15 and tip him an extra $5 cause he does my beard/goatee and shaves with a straight razor.Christmas time i'll toss him an extra $20...
All I can say is, if you like who does your hair, then make sure you take care of them. Most of us are on commission and we only make money if we do a service for someone. I charge $32 for men and $54 for women. Average tip is $5 to$10. At xmas time I usually get anywhere from $20 to $50 but not from all of my clients.
