Default Use panic button on your car key alarm to deter home invaders

      got this in an email

Put your car keys beside your bed at night

Tell your spouse, your children, your neighbours, your parents, your Dr's office, the check-out girl at the market, everyone you run across. Put your car keys beside your bed at night.

If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies.

This tip came from a neighborhood watch coordinator. Next time you come home for the night and you start to put your keys away, think of this: It's a security alarm system that you probably already have and requires no installation Test it. It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key fob chain.

It works if you park in your driveway or garage. If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break into your house, odds are the burglar/rapist won't stick around.

After a few seconds all the neighbours will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and sure enough the criminal won't want that.

And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in a parking lot. The alarm can work the same way there. This is something that should really be shared with everyone. Maybe it could save a life or a sexual abuse crime.

P.S. I am sending this to everyone I know because I think it is fantastic.

Would also be useful for any emergency, such as a heart attack, where you can't reach a phone. My Mom has suggested to my Dad that he carry his car keys with him in case he falls outside and she doesn't hear him. He can activate the car alarm and then she'll know there's a problem.

Please pass this on even IF you've read it before. It's a reminder

Thats a useful tip for the home. Idk about yall but when Im in a crowded parking lot I tend not to pay alarms any attention anymore. Reason being is that is how most people end up finding their car.

spread info to your friends and family

and when your wife or girlfriend or kids walk out of stores in public or unsafe places, have them walk with their key sticking out of their finger like a fistpack

      even out of the gym

      tons of perverts

The car alarm panic button is a good idea.

But busting a cap in their ass with my 357 seems more appropriate.

      I can't agree more.
I used to argue with my ex-wife and told her that she was a prime candidate for being a victim of crime. She tend to have a tunnel vision when walking to her car and would spend a few minutes sitting in her car before leaving. Then when I'd approach her, she gets scared because she never seen me parked near her before getting into her car.

Thanks for the tip Mercy. I never thought of that. I like both ideas, using the car alarm and putting some hot lead in there ass.

Post Re: Use panic button on your car key alarm to deter home invaders

Last night, I saw a perfect home invasion blunder on video. On "The World's Dumbest Criminals", they showed the video of a guy catching someone breaking into his home. Apparently, someone forgot to lock the front door and the would-be burglar just walked the hell in. Unfortunately, the wanna be burglar didn't expect anyone to be home and that the person would be 3 times his sizes.

So the guy's wife turned on the video camera and recorded her husband catching the guy and beating the shit out of him. All of this happened while she dialed 9.1.1, by the way. And the arrest was caught on video too. The excuses the burglar had were priceless, including "someone invited me here" and "I have 5 jobs".

Post Re: Use panic button on your car key alarm to deter home invaders

IN A FORMER LE's POINT OF VIEW, let's take a trip back to reality....

Granted, as many have pointed out, this is a pretty good idea. However, there are some problems with it:

      1) Unless your vehicle is parked near your bedroom window (which in not the case with me), pressing the panic button won't work very well, if not at all.

      2) In reality, once someone has invaded your home, there is a very slim chance that they will allow you to reach for anything without first harming you or your family.

      3) It has always been stated that should you become a victim of robbery, home invasion, etc., it's best to simply cooperate and don't give the suspect any reason to further harm you. If the suspect is high on PCP or crack, an alarm will only piss them off more and it only takes a second to pull the trigger of a gun.

It's a known fact that most crime victims are too much in shock and/or fear to even react rationally, such as to fight back or prevent further victimizing. This is why people are victimized in parking lots and garages since they are more focused on getting into their vehicles and getting home or to work.
