So i'm in one of the gyms yesterday and a guy comes into the managers office and asks the manager to cut a lock off of a loker because he threw his keys in a locker with no lock and then someone came and ut there stuff in it and locked it up. The manager refuses to cut the other persons lock and tells the guy he will have to wait for the person to leave who locked it. Of course this is not ok with the man who needs his keys. The man erupts saying i have to go to work and i can't wait for that person to come and unlock the locker. He insists its the managers job to cut the lock. The manager insists we aren't going to cut another persons lock. The person then demands the manager goes around the gym to ask everyone if they have their stuff in locker x. The manager says "there are over 400 people in the gym at this momement and i can't go to everyone and find out who is using that locker. The guy says " so you're mnot going to do what you're supposed to do as a manager and get my keys?" Before I can even start to explain that if it were his stuff that was legitamately locked up and we came and cut his lock and took something out of the locker that someone else left in it, how would he feel? We can't violate the security of that locked locker. If we cut the lock and collected the owners belongings in the office and then waited for him to come to us looking for the items and then explained the situation to him it makes us liable for any missing items. But i couldn't even get the first sentence out and this lowlife storms away saying "imma take care of this." The manager just goes back to his work so i turn to him and say "you know he is going to go rip the locker door off right?" Not fucking rocket science to figure that out. He says "No. you really think so?" I said "yeah, A big fucking monkey just said he was going to take care of it, what did you think he meant?" So we walk back to the locker rooms and there is a crowd of people standing around this destroyed locker door. The worst part is our trainer walked out of the locker room 30 seconds before we went in. I totally understand not trying to stop them but how about acting like you give a shit enough to come alert us or maybe following them enough to make sure you get a good look at them or take a picture? Nope. So we walk back to the front and i am the only one to head outside to see if they are still in the parking lot. I watch cars coming and going and sure enough I see a newer honda oddessy with these 2 apes. They see me and turn down the aisle, i get the make model and tags and then wave to them in the rear view because i know they were watching me.

I take issue with so many things in this story.
#1 the member is an idiot for throwing his keys in a locker, not locking it up and then acting like its unfathomable that someone didn't see his keys sitiing in the back of the locker.
#2 the member was ignorant of the businesses side of things, which he didn't even let us explain in detail.
#3 don't you have spare keys at your home or somewhere? I have a spare set of my keys in my wifes glove box and also at our house.
#4 did he really think that ripping the door off the locker was going to end his problems? Now my boss is pressing charges for destruction of property so now this guy is going to be arrested and miss work that day plus whatever day this ends up in court.
#5 how niave was the manager to not think that the guy was going to rip the locker door off? The gym is known for not having the nicest members. I had one person tell me that the free weight area looked like the yard at san quentin.
#6 As i stated above, I totally get not the trainer not stopping them because i could have attempted to stop them myself but i ain't getting into a fight with 2 thugs over the locker door. That aint worth a trip to the hospital, charges and possible further retaliation. But why wouldn't the trainer come get us? oh yeah because he is a fucking spineless pussy who only cares about talking to girls at work.
#7 How come i was the only one who thought to look in the parking lot so we could get vehicle info?

later in the day when the guy realized he fucked up he came back and tried to plead his case and apologize and wanted to speak to someone above the manager. The employees let him know that the owner already pressed charges on him. Funny because you claimed you had to be at work yet you were able to come back within 3 hours to tell us you're not that guy. The smart moves just keep coming.
