They say that stuff rolls downhillin a workplace, but a newstudy suggests a way stop your boss from taking out his stresson you: 30 minutes in the gym. Researchers atNorthern Illinois University and the University of Illinois at Chicago found that just 30minutes of good exercise once or twice a week can cut off the trickle-down effect from anabusiveboss. The study examined 98 MBA graduates alongwith 98 supervisors and asked them to fill out a survey. The graduates answered questionsabout how abusive their supervisor was in the workplacewhile the supervisors answered how frequently they exercised -- if at all. The results showed that the managers who exercised more wereless likely to take out their stresses on their employees -- even if they were equallyas stressed as the other people in charge. So nexttime you’re pooling in for a gift for the boss, think about a gym membership, theP90XDVDs or some MMA classes. All of those good investments will help him mellow out and payyou dividends in return. Continue Reading
