Often times when a man is describedas doing things “like a woman,” it’s meant to be derogatory. But whenit comes to jobinterviews, a new study suggest that men would be wise to approach them like a woman if they want better results. Research from the University of Western Ontarioshowed that women performed better in interviews because they were more prepared. Whilethey tended to do more worrying about the opportunity, that anxiety actually caused themto spend more time preparing by either reading how-to guides or practicing. Meanwhile, men minimized how concerned they were,didn’t feel like they needed to prepare as much and therefore didn’tperform as well in the interview. It’s not surprising to hear that women err on the side of caution and underestimatethemselves. As for guys, we’re just straight-up cocky and believe it’salready in the bag.
