Default Your Most Insane Party Stories

It turns out that the parties depicted in movies like The Hangover and Project X are pretty much everyday, ordinary events. We asked for your wildest party stories, and you did not disappoint. You told us about hilarious beach parties, off-the-hook college blowouts, backstage ragers, and a few almost unbelievable international extravaganzas (next time you're in Dubai partying with a heiress and a circus troupe, give us a call). Honorable mentions go to Alan, who crashed a wedding party, met a beautiful woman and escaped by motorbike after getting into a brawl with Russian soldiers; and to Rolando, who went to a "sophisticated adult party" where he discovered that his wife was more sexually enlightened than he could have imagined. One of the craziest party stories was submitted by Chris, who, after a long stretch of work, went on a spur-of-the-moment trip to Cabo. Here's his story.(Note: This submission was edited and condensed for clarity.) la celda de la cárcel

"A few nights into our vacation, we started at the pavilion bar at our resort, ordering rounds of shots 30 at a time for a huge group. Along with a few friends, we went to a popular club named El Squid Roe in downtown Cabo. The club was wild. We were all taking shots, dancing on tables and just having a blast. At one point, a friend came over to me and said, 'Come here. Sh*t is already starting.' I asked him what was going on, and he informed me that some drunk guy was groping his fiancee. The dude was obviously beyond drunk and was running his mouth off. Before anything could happen, club security came over, grabbed the guy and carried him out (he started to put up a fight). Instead of letting this spoil the night, I rounded everyone up and we went next door to a more upscale club. We had a great time and almost forgot completely about the earlier incident. After a brief stop (and win) at a casino, we eventually got back to our resort. The girls decided to call it a night while the guys went to the sports bar looking for another drink and some food. A few moments later, the girl who had been groped earlier burst in screaming and crying hysterically. The drunk guy who'd groped her earlier in the night was staying at our resort. At this point, the night got a little foggy. I recall a scuffle, riding in the bed of the truck and then waking up in a Mexican jail cell. I was wearing jeans from the night before and still had my sandals, but I had none of my possessions and no shirt on. I then realized that I was in a cell with almost a dozen locals and not a single one of my friends was there. Luckily, I was still a little drunk. Otherwise, a full nervous breakdown might have ensued. Mexican prison was everything you could imagine. It was dirty, smelly and, worst of all, the locals from nearby cells kept pointing and gesturing at us in ways that we took as, 'I am going to cut your throat.' Inmates were climbing on the cell bars, screaming and even consuming drugs. It was a very comforting environment for two young professionals who had never had any more trouble than a minor traffic violation.A local who spoke English informed me that normally the police hold everyone for 72 hours. I really started to panic then because our flight out was in less than two days. I sat on a bench in the cell and tried to recap the night. At around 11 a.m. a guard took us to the booking office. They ended up returning our possessions and released us for $50.00 USD per person with no paperwork involved. We walked out of the jail, stunned and grateful. With no taxis around, we end up having to pay a police officer to return us to our resort (where we desperately wanted to shower and let the healing process begin). To our surprise, however, we were met at the resort entrance by the manager. She informed us that we could no longer stay at the resort due to our behavior. (We were very confused by this because we had only attempted to diffuse things.)Later, after checking in to our new hotel, we looked at our online banking statement to try and better recap the evening. Looking at what we had spent, we realized that you don’t just end up in a VIP section for free. So not only did we spend a night in jail in Mexico, but we (apparently) spent some time at a local brothel and also managed to run up a $1,587.00 bar tab at the upscale club. Our quiet vacation turned into an epic story that we'll always remember." Continue Reading
