With Apple’sability to make some of the world’s finest software (its share price pushed itsvalue north of $500 billion, making it the most valuable business in the world today),it’s no surprise to hear that it may be moving into in-car entertainment. While Apple isn’t planning on building its own car, it appears, accordingto a recent job posting on LinkedIn, that the company is looking for engineers withexperience integrating products into cars. The specifics of the job posting reveal thatApple China is in search of someone who would know how to manufacture a dashboard orcenter console that could take a device placed into it. The in-carentertainment system market is currently dominated by Microsoft, who has been in theindustry for over a decade, working alongside Ford, Kia and Toyota. However, as withso many other markets that Apple has entered in previous years (music, mobile phones, filmdistribution) it shouldn’t take it too long to catch up.
