Sexist television commercials are nothing new. Advertisers aren’t heldto the same social mores as everyone else because they know that sex sells. It’sthat simple. Ads like the one below for Goodyear used to be commonplace, but over time,campaigns have shied away from such overt sexism, morphing instead into subtler, butequally dismissive, declarations on gender roles. Full disclosure: I love seeing ascantily clad woman as much as the next guy, but these ads are demeaning to say the leastand attempt to take advantage of an implied stupidity in men.
