Methyl testosterone is an orally active (methylated) version of Testosterone. It was the first oral anabolic steroid synthesized. It is a high androgenic steroid with a comprably very short active life of only 6-8 hours. Obviously it is a c17-Alfa alkylated steroid molecule, meaning a methyl group has been added to the c-17-alpha position of the original testosterone molecule to survive oral ingestion and being passed through liver. This alteration makes methyltestosterone highly live toxic, as it puts strain on your liver when it passes through. Of course, Testosterone aromatizes more easily to estrogen in the oral form than it's injectable cousins (testosterone suspension or with an ester) due to P-450 enzyme activity. Orally ingested steroids also have greater IGF activating and producing effects, and this explains why methyltestosteorne has a greater anabolic rating then the injectable form (which has a rating of 100). It's felt that the initial weight gained from the use of this drug was simply water weight, when used in higher doses. Often methyltestosterone is used prior to a workout because a rapid increase in strength and aggressiveness was often felt within an hour of taking the product. Unfortunately, nose bleeds, and sodium retention (and resulting high blood pressure) are common.
Unless several injectable steroids are stacked with methyltestosterone, such as testosterone, deca-durabolin, and/or equipoise, few tangible weight gains will be realized.
