Yeah, you've got to pay attention to what and where you use your credit/bank cards. Luckily, I have always checked my bank card on a daily basis all the time. That sucks having to deal with someone trying to use your card, but it's a good reminder for everyone else to start looking at their own accounts during the holidays.
