Tweetoh man baby1. i have been on the max dose 3x a day for the last 2 years. mine is for a gunshot wound i suffered here a minute ago. it destroyed all the nerves in my shoulder tricep forearm and last 2 fingers. i have some minor damage to my back from it also. as far as the lyrica goes it works to somewhat kills almost all the nerve sensation but the draw back is:
1-dr said i would get used to it. i didnt, still cant drive for 5-6 hours after i take it.
2-makes you groggy as hell.
3-slows everything down like it is cool.
4-makes you put on fat if you dont stay tight on a diet.
i only take it at night now and i didnt tell him that because i dont like the way it makes me feel and i would rather be in pain than a zombie. he did tell me everyone is def on the meds though and since i was so sensitive to pain meds this is why i dont adapt to its effects
Tweeti will throw in their too that my only other pain mngment option to date is a spinal stimulator and i refuse to get my back cut on. or at least till i cant stand it any more
TweetThanks for the feedback guns!! I am getting it filled today then I will try it. I have been told to take a very low dose of 50mg broken up in 2 doses. From what I have read, I don't know if that will even do anything. I am a very petite person so sometimes things do work on me in small doses. If it makes me like a zombie, I won't be able to take it. I also am a bit afraid to gain the weight that I heard can happen from this. Some say it is better to be fat and out of pain but I beg to differ. Thanks again!
Tweetyou and me both. the fat gain will get out of hand if you let it. the ones they gave me are caps. they started me off at 100mg 3x a day and it didnt do anything for my nerve damage so they ramped it up to the max 200mg 3x a day. if you are sensitive to it, i would wait for the weekend or a day when you dont have to do anything cause it is no joke.
Tweethey baby1 also lmk how this stuff affects you especially if you are sensitive to stuff like i am. the pain mangement dr that i see thinks that i am a mutant because of how everything effects me. he also thinks i am a nut job because i would rather deal with pain than to take meds all the time.
