Laid Off Today

TweetI was laid off today and am looking to collect unemployment for a while if possible. I havent had a vacation in 5 years and hoping to rest and relax for a while. I was wondering if any of you guys have any advice on how to get the most out of it, and not have to be out looking for jobs all the time. A bro on another board told me to tell them that I plan on returning when business picks back up and I will not have to job hut. Any truth to this. Any info ar advice is appreciated.

TweetWell, here is whats going on. I worked as a service tech for a plumbing company. There is another office location about 30 miles away. Our office shut down today due to lack of business, so the other location is going to start to handle our stuff. So technically the company is still up and running. I was thinking I could tell them that I plan to go work there when things pick back up. I just dont want to be searcing for jobs everyday and end up settling for something that doesnt pay shit.

TweetYour employer will get a form to fill out once you go to stake your claim on unemployment. I is a very simple form. They ask for the reason for your unemployment. Like lack of work, reduced hours etc. The form ask how long the employer thinks the layoff will last. Providing they dont fight it then getting the unemployment is cake. In fact I'm not so sure you have to do much after that point. Back in the day you had to go out to x number of employers etc. I know several people who have been collecting unemployment for much longer then I can beleive and none of them are going out on job interviews.

I would suggest going and getting your unemployment claim started ASAP dont dely. It will take a few weeks before you see any funds again providing the employer is not fighting it.

TweetFiled today, I will be glad when those checks start rolling in. I do have to make contact or whatever with 4 employers per week but that really isnt shit. Its going to be nice to have a break for a while. Its a good thing I have a good chunk of money saved up.

Tweetyou'll be gtg Mpress.shit,5 years without a vacation sounds like you've got serious work ethics.it's been a while for me.just comin off seasonal unemployment now cause i'm goin back to work.at 1st it's great...for the first month.by month 2-3 i wanna kill myself.there's only so much i can handle on the boards all day plus i try and get my hustle on doin side work but it gets old...fast.now's the time to really study your gear,routines,etc...
this is when i download all my info from other places about things that grab my interest.

You got it rocco. That's exactly what Im doing. Been putting a lot more into my training and diet. It feels good to finally have some time to do the things that keep me going. However, its beginning to get a bit old considering all I have done the past week, is eat, train, tan, sleep. LOL Starting to look for jobs online, Im no gonna lie. It sucks because I have plenty of money saved up and am going to be getting a check every week... very small Ill add, but still cant make myself spend money. Its like my concious just wont allow me to. lmao
