Welfare is a necessary, but definitely in need of overhaul. There's no incentive to get off it, only to suck its teat for as long as possible. Drug testing should be mandatory, and if you're not working then some type of volunteer or community service should be mandatory. If you're willing to take you should be willing to contribute.

As for torture, it's junk. Sometimes you get information, but more often than not when you torture someone they're willing to confess to anything and everything, they'd confess to killing Abe Lincoln if it meant you'd stop simulating drowning... We charged Japanese soldiers in WW2 for water boarding American soldiers, but now it's cool if we do it? I don't think so.

And again as for entitlements, I don't see many republicans shitting a brick over the tax breaks, loopholes, and government breaks that big corporations get. Capitalism is dandy if you're a broke schmo, but socialism for the rich and corporate is apparently acceptable.
