Floyd Mayweather Comments on Pacquiao Vs. Marquez Decision: Fan Reaction

On Nov. 12, boxing fans witnessed one of the greatest robberies of all time when Manny Pacquiao got the nod over Juan Manuel Marquez, after their 12 round encounter at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Boxing's pound-for-pound champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. had a few words to say about the decision, and he obviously wasn't impressed by Pacquiao's performance against Marquez.

"I didn't watch the fight, but from what I'm hearing Marquez got cheated," Mayweather told FightHype.com. "I truly feel Marquez is never going to get the benefit of the doubt. People fail to realize, when I faced Marquez, I was two years off just travelling and vacationing. I took two years off, no working out, no other activities. But I went out and performed and looked marvelous. When I fought Marquez, they said Marquez was over the hill. When I fought Marquez, he was 36 and I was 32. Now, two years later, Pacquiao is 32 and Marquez is 38… Win, lose or draw, whoever I fight still has to be tested with random blood and urine Test."

Mayweather has certainly earned the right to criticize Manny's poor performance over the weekend, given how dominant he was against Marquez. Mayweather put on a clinic against the then 36 year old Marquez, landing 59 percent of his punches in the fight.

Marquez, who had no problems finding Manny's face on Nov. 12, didn't look as impressive against Mayweather, landing only 12 percent of his blows.

Mayweather has already made it clear he'll like to fight Pacquiao on May 5, 2012, but I'll be shocked if the Filipino boxer steps up to the plate. Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum didn't seem too interested in a fight against Mayweather, instead pushing for a fourth fight with Marquez.

Avoiding Mayweather will probably be Pacquiao's best career move, as a date with the greatest defensive specialist in the history of the sweet science will earn him nothing less than a humiliating loss.
