Paulo Thiago Draws Mike Pyle for UFC 142

Mike Pyle will once again step into the lion’s den when he travels to Brazil to face Paulo Thiago at UFC 142 in his home country.

Sources close to the match-up confirmed the new bout to MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday. Tatame.com first reported the new fight.

Mike Pyle is no stranger to facing a fighter on his home soil. Just a couple of fights ago, Pyle faced John Hathaway in his home country of England, and proceeded to win by unanimous decision in one of his strongest performances to date.

Pyle picked up another win over Ricardo Almeida in his adopted home state of New Jersey, before running into a buzzsaw named Rory MacDonald at UFC 133.

Now Pyle travels to Brazil to face one of their own.

Paulo Thiago will make his return to action with his second fight in a row in Brazil.

Thiago defeated David Mitchell at UFC 134 in his home country to stop a two fight skid, after suffering losses to Diego Sanchez and Martin Kampmann.

The welterweights will square off in Brazil as the UFC travels to the country for the second time in less than a year, with several more shows and projects popping up in Brazil in the near future.
