A featherweight bout has been added to the UFC debut card on FX with Swedish based fighter Reza Madadi making his Octagon debut against Rafaello Oliveira.
Oliveira announced the bout via his Twitter account on Wednesday.
According to the Brazilian, he was awaiting clearance from his doctors for an injury to his hand, but now that he’s received that, the fight is on for Jan 20.
“Went to my doctor today and he told me I am able to fight Jan 20, UFC on FX versus Reza Madadi,” Oliveira wrote.
Oliveira returns and it may be a must win situation for him however after losing back-to-back fights in his last two trips to the Octagon.
Facing Oliveira with be UFC newcomer Reza Madadi.
Madadi comes to the UFC with a 11-2 record and a six fight winning streak currently. Madadi has faced some solid competition to earn his way to the UFC including wins recently over Rich Clementi, Carlo Prater and Junie Browning.
Now Madadi moves over to the UFC and jumps into a very deep lightweight division.
