Arguably the world’s best and most famousrestaurant of the past decade, El Bulli finally closed its doors, after awell-publicized dinner, on July 30, 2011.During the years in which therestaurant was under his charge, Chef FerranAdria became well known for giving aspiring young cooks the opportunity to work in hiskitchens. During their time under his tutelage, he sought not only to help them improvetheir practical skills, but also to challenge their boundaries and nourish their culinaryspirits. There are few chefs I have encountered who have anything but good words to sayabout their time in the most famous restaurant kitchen in the world.It is atestament to what Chef Adria achieved that so many of these chefs have gone on to runcelebrated restaurants of their own, and while they have definitely developed their owncooking styles, the DNA of El Bulli can clearly be seen in their approach to cooking andthe dishes they serve.Alumni of El Bulli can be found in the kitchens ofrestaurants all over the world, but below are five chefs of whom Ferran Adria would beparticularly proud to have helped along the way.
